Mechanical Engineer – COMAH Site

We’re seeking a Mechanical Engineer with experience in COMAH-regulated environments to join a leading process manufacturing facility in Greater Manchester. This role is key in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant mechanical systems.

The Role:

• Leading and supporting mechanical engineering projects from design through to completion.

• Developing and implementing maintenance strategies and reliability improvements.

• Troubleshooting and resolving issues across pumps, compressors, pressure systems, and rotating equipment.

• Ensuring compliance with COMAH, PSSR, PUWER, LOLER, and PED standards.

• Supporting shutdown planning, HAZOP participation, and process safety initiatives.

• Managing contractors and vendors for mechanical works.

• Preparing and reviewing technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation.

About You:

• Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).

• Mechanical engineering/maintenance experience in chemical, pharmaceutical, or petrochemical industries.

• Strong knowledge of rotating equipment, pressure systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics.

• Excellent organisational, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
